Job Description

Special Events Manager, an excellent opportunity for an experienced Special Events Fundraiser to join a world-leading Health Charity.

Office is based in Central London, offering hybrid working; 2 days office, 3 days working from home.
Salary: £42,750 to £45,000 per annum.
Holidays: 28 days per annum + 8 Bank holidays.

With new investment and a new fundraising strategy, along with outstanding success across fundraising, it’s a great time to join the Major Gifts Team and grow the existing special events programme to greater heights.  

As the Special Events Manager, working with the Deputy Director of Philanthropy, you will further develop, create and deliver a programme of cultivation and stewardship events in support of the charity’s major gifts programme. Leading on an events strategy to maximise income from high value ticketed event-based fundraising activity.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Develop and deliver the major gift events programme to support the Development Team meet its financial targets. The events include donor receptions, flagship Carols event, bespoke events, drinks receptions.
Plan all elements of major events, including liasing with senior staff, catering, location booking, operations schedules, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Manage and motivate the flagship events committee for a successful event. Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, papers, and minutes and respond to general enquiries.
Coordinate PR and social media efforts around events with the Communications Team.
Produce and distribute event invitations and newsletters.
Work with the Prospect Research Team, to identify leads from amongst event attendees for major gifts, corporates and legacies, and share these with the wider Development & Communications Team.

For this pivotal Special Events Manager role, within the Philanthropy Directorate, you will have previous skills and experiences in areas such as;  

A solid track record of delivering a wide range of Special Events, focused on raising funds and cultivating relationships, tailoring each event to meet different audience needs.   
Substantial experience of working with high profile events committees and high value ticketed events.
Exposure to the major gift fundraising environment and to high profile relationships within these teams.    
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills and experience of managing budgets.
