Job Description

Head of National Engagement and Loyalty, joining a fantastic National Children’s Welfare Charity.

An excellent and unique opportunity to join the Social Impact Team at a very exciting time.

As the Head of National Engagement and Loyalty, your role is critical to deepening supporter relationships, retaining and inspiring loyalty across a community who’ve taken an action to support the cause.  

Head Office is in London, open to remote working across the UK. Occasional travel to London
Open to flexible working patterns, compressed hours.
Fixed term contract until March 2025
28 days holiday per year + 8 bank holidays

You’ll be dynamic leader, with cross-channel marketing experience, to help shape the audience engagement approach across a national supporter base; fostering supporter loyalty, growing action, income, and impact to achieve the charities long-term goals.  

You’ll have a track-record of delivering excellence across direct marketing campaigns, shaping an engagement portfolio, supporter communications across a range of media. Building on audience insight, using knowledge of audience motivations to develop, innovate new ways for supporters to donate and get involved.

You’ll also be experienced in supporting the team through a test and learn environment, inspiring colleagues to push the boundaries of possibility.

As the Head of National Engagement and Loyalty, managing two Engagement Managers and team, you’ll be responsible for;  

Building a movement of support. Increasing action, income, and impact. Prioritising long-term relationships and supporter experiences over short-term transactions.
Developing and delivering an audience-focused, integrated mobilisation approach for multi-channel national engagement activity. Ensuring collaboration and consistency across owned, earned, and paid media.
Planning, developing, and delivering national engagement campaigns and activities. Understanding and increasing loyalty to grow public contributions of time, money, and voice.
Ensuring powerful propositions, concepts and offers elevate voice and are rooted in the brand and storytelling approach. Deliver effective national campaigns which prioritise relationships and lifetime value of support.
Building and leading an innovation-first culture. Acting as an enabler, harnessing skills to deliver maximum output and impact across national engagement activities.

Essential Requirements:

People & leadership skills to nature and coach the team working with you.
Experience of multi-channel direct response marketing, developing, and implementing audience engagement strategies, along with campaign planning, project management & delivery, proposition & concept development, product development, Insight-led innovation.
Strong financial modelling & complex budgets
