Job Description
Special Events Assistant, 6-month contract, an excellent opportunity to join a leading Cancer Charity, based Central London.
- Salary: £27,820 – £30,602 per annum (based on experience).
- 6 – Month Fixed Term Contract, starting in September.
- Hybrid Working; 2 days a week office based, 3 days working from home.

As the Special Events Assistant, working with the Special Events Manager and Officer, you will support with the delivery of several high-value events which include a Golf Day, Gala Dinner and a Carol Concert.
As Special Events Assistant, you will play a key role within the Special Events team, providing all round support to the team, such as:
- Working with the Special Events Manager to deliver a Golf Day, Gala Dinner and a Christmas Carol Concert and other high-profile events within the special events portfolio.
- Act as the key point of contact for all aspects of event planning and delivery including sourcing and coordinating invite lists, managing RSVP’s and accurately recording details on the database.
- Manage supporter communications from the special events inbox, dealing with each email in a timely and professional manner.
- Lead on handling gifts and raising invoices and prompt thanking/banking in a timely manner.
- Attend each special event, supporting the special events team from pre event set up, helping out on the day/night of the event setting, to post-event admin.
- Keep the database and other reporting systems up-to-date and accurate
Key skills, experience and knowledge required to be successful in this Special Events Assistant role, are areas such as:
- Prior experience of working within Special Events role, or in a very similar role within the charity sector.
- Prior experience of using a fundraising database to record all events data, activities and supporter information.
- Experienced in providing administrative support on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience of supporting with event briefings, reports and evaluations, would be advantageous though not essential.
